Closed business but still need access to MYOB data

Last year we closed out business.  It will be finalised and deregistered by our accountant after the end of this financial year.  I've still been paying for our full access to MYOB AccountRight ($165 a month).  What product/subscription can I reduce down to that still allows the accountant to access past Accounts, Banking data and possibly Sales and Inventory?

Good question, Nathanshoals.  We have sold our business with settlement mid-May.  We don't want to keep paying $165/month for longer than necessary, ie, once the staff are all paid out and Payroll EOFY has been completed.

Thank you MYOB for your advice.

    Hi Nathanshoals,

You’re on the right track thinking about this now. If you’ll stop trading and just need your accountant to access past Accounts, Banking, Sales and Inventory in AccountRight, the main thing is to keep your existing company file available online and ensure your accountant has a user login with the right access. You can also check out our current plans to see which one best suits your business needs at this stage. You can also contact our team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account if you need help choosing the option that keeps your file accessible for your accountant.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

    Hi Doreen,

So any business which has closed but not had its tax returns etc. finalised will need to keep paying $165 a month, long after any income has ceased?  For ceased businesses in the past I have taken a full backup to a USB and given it to the accountant.  Now I suppose this wont be possible and we'll keep paying until he gets around to finishing with it.

Not very fair - surely the data in the file which has been paid to process while a subscription was in place should still be accessible by the accountant, even if by backup?

    Thanks

    Vicki
