Well the en**bleep**ification of MYOB is complete! The new owners of MYOB have taken a once great program and destroyed it. In its hey day my subscription provided me with a phone number where I could reach technical support in no time. On 90% of occasions the person answering actually knew a lot more than me about MYOB and could help with the problem I was having. Now....
- No professional technical support unless you want to wait on the phone for 3 days but hey you can ask the community (who are not being paid to help you) and hope they have worked it out already.
- A desktop version of Premier I bought over 30 years ago and has a "Perpetual Membership" has been stolen from me by MYOB and locked so it cannot be used. MYOB gained access through deception.
- MYOB has reduced the functionality of accounts when the merchant facility is not taken up though the price remains the same. This is simply holding businesses to ransom and no different to hackers behaviour.
- When they released the notice about backing up online or on desktop but not both they said you could change back anytime. Another lie.
- When they released single sign-on they did not give us a choice. You couldn't sign on unless you proceeded and accepted it.All of these actions were taken by MYOB to gain access to our files and remove our access.
- We received no email or notice from any other source that the offline files would cease to work after 17 June so had no opportunity to do anything. There is no point going online only as it doesn't have the same auto-build functions we need.
- Today my online / desktop version crashed every time I tried to print payslips or invoices or email payslips. I went to put through payment of super and when I checked it the report for the current fortnight actually contained the figures for the previous fortnight.
- The online file and the desktop file are completely different.
- You can't save your file to your computer so have no ownership of it ...how dare they!!
- MYOB overcharges on credit card fees. By Australian law if you charge one fee for all cards you can only charge the lowest fee of all the fees you receive eg a debit card of 0.8% perhaps. There is no way MYOB is charged 1.8% for the cheapest card.
- Seriously everyone I think it is time for a class action. The amount of time, stress and loss of money everyone has experienced should be compensated and MYOB should be forced to give us our working files back.
