MYOB accountright not starting

Hi There, I am trying to login in accountright app on the windows. And then as soon as I try to login, webpage opens up, I do the login there and then it says yo can close the webpage and go back to the application. But the application doesnt open. I have tried everything, restarting the computer and everything.

  • Just implemented a fix that got it working on a users PC.

     

    Make the user is is signed out of MYOB in their web browser.

     

    1. Open `regedit` as admin

    2. Navigate to `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes`

    3. Right-click `Classes` → New → Key → name it `myob-arl`

    4. Click the `myob-arl` key, double click the `(Default)` → set value to `URL: MYOB AccountRight Protocol`

    5. Right click `myob-arl` → New → String Value → name it `URL Protocol`, leave value empty

    6. Right click `myob-arl` → New → Key → `shell`

    7. Right click `shell` → New → Key → `open`

    8. Right click `open` → New → Key → `command`

    9. Right click `command`, double click `(Default)` → set value to:

    ```

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\MYOB AccountRight 2026.2\Huxley.Application.exe" "%1"

    ```

    (note: update the executable path to suit your needs)

     

    Launch AccuntRight again and sign in, this time after signing into MYOB in the browser a pop up should appear asking to launch AccountRight click OK, if that happens you know it's working.

    I've had the same issues.  So does this mean that since the upgrade yesterday, it will always launch in a browser tab and we have to go through that process every time?  Seems ridiculous.  Why can't it launch the same way it always had?  With all the internet scams and problems these days, seeing something different is just setting off alarm bells to me?

    I'm on the phone with support right now..we cleared the cache file, not luck..waiting for more 

     

    2nd attempt to fix....

    Uninstalled desktop app, re-installed..program and it opened normally.

    As a test, closed it down. tried to open AR.....back to loop.....not getting the check box about ssl etc... coming up.

    Tried to use Chrome instead of MS Edge..still not getting check box treferring to ssl ......now waiting for other solutions.

    (apologies for lack of detail.....typing while on hold and working with support)

     

    Online file shows version 2025.8 while the one time Desktop version opened it was 2026.2.0

  • Hi guys,

     

    We're facing the same issue as Anjali1985​ and Albare​ .

     

    Just updated multiple machines 2026.2 and now they all can't sign in.

     

    Click Sign in from AccountRight, browser launches, user signs in as usual, page goes to "https://arl-sso.myob.com/........."

     

    The page says "You've been signed in", but in the AccountRight application we are not signed in.

     

    Clicking Sign in again in AccountRight take you to the browser again saying "You've been signed in" but we are not signed in.

    Hey Anjali1985​ Albare​ 

    Please check that you're on the latest version as we updated AccountRight to version 2026.2 yesterday.
    If you have the latest version, try closing and re-opening AccountRight before signing in. 
    If your file is online, you will have the new SSO experience, make sure to tick 'always allow' so that you are redirected to the browser sign in. Check out this thread for more information!

    Same here...stuck in a loop, says I'm logged into Account Right and to close window and return to application.

     

    So I close window (browser tab) and a window is present  "Open an AccountRight library"  says that I'm not signed in my AccountRight Live.....

    Click on online company file, hit open and it goes back to a new browser tab that says I'm logged in...

     

    just keeps looping between these two ...

     

    it's Thursday and I need to process pays...
