I believe I started using MYOB in the late 1990s when I purchased a program which I downloaded to my computer. There were upgrades every so often, but I only ever upgraded about every 3rd or 4th upgrade, not thinking that the (usually minor) changes warranted the upgrade fee.
It was quite a game changer when I moved to the live Account Right Plus and began paying per month what I used to pay for my three or four yearly upgrade. However, the benefits were great and in 2016 I began paying $99 per month for the Live version. Between 2016 and 2020 one could work with one, two or three files on MYOB for the same subscription price. The big change came in 2020 when the billing indicated that the second file was "free", but it was obvious that it would soon not be! For the next two years the second file (I had decided to delete my third file) was charged at 60%, then in 2023 the second file cost the same as the first. In other words, between 2018 and 2023, MYOB managed to double their rate!
What difference is it to MYOB that I am working on 1 file or 2 files? The "enhancements" are to the program not to my files! The monthly rates for our business for the past few years show increases of $10, $18 and $30. MYOB is getting greedier and greedier.
So, in 2016 my MYOB sub was $99 per month. Ten years later, it is about to be $330!
