GST reports - include or exclude gst?

I used to be able to exclude or include GST in the GST Summary reports - there was a "toggle" drop down list to choose either.

But it's disappeared.

I read that the ATO wants the reports to be GST EXCLUSIVE but the reports appear to be defaulting to INCLUSIVE for the Sale Value - how can I change it to "exclusive'?

How can I get a report to toggle between "inclusive" or "exclusive" of GST?

And what is the default in the GST reports?

(Obviously the P&L is exclusive.)

I hear and understand what you are saying.

However, for the record, in the Report "GST Summary Accrual" the figures under the headings "Sale Value" and "Purchase Value" do now include GST in those figures. i.e. they are GST Inclusive.

The total GST is seen under the headings "Tax Collected" and "Tax Paid".

    Hi Wynn

That toggle on the GST Summary was definitely handy when it was still around.

To answer your question straight up:

    • You can’t switch the GST Summary report between “GST inclusive” and “GST exclusive” anymore – that option’s no longer available.
    • The GST Summary now always shows net amounts with GST in separate columns, and that works the same in both desktop and the browser.
    • The note about using the browser GST report is only about how it splits GST between Sales and Purchases (helpful for mixed income/expense transactions) – it doesn’t give you an include/exclude GST toggle.

If you need GST‑inclusive figures, the easiest option for now is to use another report that still has an “Amounts are: Tax inclusive / Tax exclusive” setting (for example, a Sales or Profit & Loss report) and use that instead of the GST Summary.

Also, could you add a line to say what the report is - exclusive of GST or Inclusive of GST?
