Importing Unreleased Retainage and Previously Invoiced values on project for progress billing

I need to be able to import/record Unreleased Retainage and Previously Invoiced values for open projects that are being converted from another system. The construction guides indicate it should be possible to import Unreleased Retainage. Regardless of whether I have migration mode set, it just does not import. Any suggestions?
