We didn't as MYOX wouldn't provide a cost unless we gave them a backup of our data which management weren't so keen on.
Our IT department are looking at creating another MYOB file which we can keep for historical purposes and then reducing the live MYOB file which we are utilising - not sure how they are going about the reducing part given that purging isn't an option.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I have the same issue and keep creating a new MYOB file every 4 years. However, I need to pay for both a new MYOB licence fee (for the new file) and an old licence fee for the old file until the final 4th quarter BAS and tax return are lodged, which takes 4 months. Another issue is after the old licence was cancelled, I cannot open the old files anymore. Do you have the same issues?

Hi Mary008 , LDOG , FYI I have referred a number of clients over many years to FGHTables.com.au, who provide a comparable service, which has always been highly professional, and good value. You might wish to consider this option.
Any AR desktop file you submit for purging can be retained by you and restored to your local library (read-only). This means you always have full data retention at no extra cost (as I understand it, under current license conditions). The cost to purge varies according to how much data is required to be purged, and a quote is provided based on a supplied backup.

As mentioned to Mary008 we used Myox Services and all has seemed to have worked as expected however I still find getting reports out of MYOB very slow... even though now we only have 2 years of data in our Cloud MYOB, MYOB still will stop responding and crash. Very frustrating!!!

May be 2 years of data is still a lot. I have searched up from the FGH tables website that file size of over 1.5GB will start to slow down. Maximum capacity is 4GB. If you download your file, you can check the file size. Mine is 3GB already. That's why it's very slow.

Hi Mary
We ended up using MYOX Services and they purged data pre 30.06.2023 which now just sits on our network and I separate file which we can access this old data at any point in time. So far so good
