Hi RodBiddle,
That’s an odd one, especially when the import stops partway and doesn’t create a log file at all. A couple of practical things worth testing first are:
- Splitting the import into smaller batches.
- Removing the lines that have already imported.
- Retrying with a freshly saved copy of the import file.
Since you’ve already tested it from another PC and with another user, this doesn’t look like a one-off machine issue. If it keeps stopping without generating a log file, it’s best to reach out to our team. They can then check what’s going on in the file. You can contact them on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account.
Cheers,
Doreen
Thanks for the feedback, Doreen
The size of the batches doesn't seem relevant. I imported 17 records, then 2, then 5, then 0 - all without the system writing to an importlog file. Which is the first time (several years) I have seen that.
I'm not sure if it was related, but the new login method (bringing up the browser window to log) will not let me run the desktop Accountright as Admin. I get in a login loop, and it won't open. This is only if I try running as admin - which I did to see if the writing to the importlog file needed admin level.
Either way, have raised ticket now as this is abnormal behaviour.
