  • Hi Stuart,

Import error 4012 can be fiddly to pin down through AccountRight’s built-in Import Assistant, even when your file looks complete.

Another option worth considering is TransPost (https://transpost.com.au). It loads items and their linked account codes into AccountRight through MYOB’s AccountRight Live API instead of the text-file Import Assistant, so it sidesteps that import path altogether and gives you clear, field-level messages if anything in the data actually needs fixing.

Handy especially if you import items regularly.

Disclosure: I work for TransPost which is a 3rd Party tool for MYOB.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Princess,

I tried adding the separator with no success.

I tried to Contact page with no success.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Stuart

    Hi BIRD_PLACE,

Thanks for sharing the error file. I see you've used the imported template and took the right steps to set it up, but there is just one detail causing the 4012 error. It points to an issue with the expense or cost-of-sales account. Please double-check that the account is already set up in MYOB and is a P&L account. Also, keep an eye on the format: imports can use a separator (e.g., 5-1100), but exports won't have one (e.g., 51000)

If you're still stuck after checking those, definitely hit up our support team through the Contact page so they can take a closer look.

    Cheers,

    Princess
