💡 Idea: Add clear invoice status (Draft vs. Sent) + SMTP email settings
Currently, after creating an invoice in Solo, it’s difficult to tell whether it was just saved as a draft or actually sent to the client. The invoice list doesn’t display any status indicators (e.g., “Draft”, “Sent”, “Viewed”), which makes it hard to track invoice progress at a glance.
Suggestions:
- Invoice status indicator:
Add a visible label next to each invoice:
✅ Sent
📝 Draft
👁 Viewed (optional, if the client has opened the invoice email)
Or allow filtering/sorting by status in the invoice list. - Custom SMTP settings:
Allow users to connect their own email provider (via SMTP) so that invoices are sent from their own business email address rather than from a generic Solo email.
Why this matters:
- Helps users clearly track which invoices have been sent and which are still drafts.
- Reduces the risk of forgotten or duplicate invoices.
- Sending invoices from a custom business email increases trust, improves deliverability, and maintains consistent branding.
- Both features are especially valuable for freelancers and small business owners managing many clients.
This would be a powerful quality-of-life improvement for all Solo users.
