Invoicing

How do I use the new text functionality to send an invoice?

  • Hi EmmaF11 thanks for reaching out with this question—it’s a good one! Here’s how to send an invoice via text, plus a look at what’s in the works to make this process simpler.

How to send an Invoice via text

    Locate the Invoice

    • If you’re creating a new invoice from scratch, fill out all the relevant details and then click "Save and Send."
    • If you’ve already saved the invoice or want to send a reminder via text, go to the Money in tab in the app and select the invoice you want to send.

    Preview the Invoice PDF

    • Click the "Preview PDF" button

Once you have located your invoice and opened it up, click the "Preview PDF" button.

    Share the Invoice

    • Once the PDF preview loads, click the share/upload icon in the top right corner.Click the Upload Icon in the top right hand corner.

    • You’ll see a list of options, including text and any other apps that allow you to send a PDF. Click "Messages"
Select where you want to send the invoice, in this case click "Messages".

    Send via Text

    • This will load up your messaging app, enter the recipient's phone number or look them up in your contacts list and click "Send."

Note: Make sure that MMS is enabled on your device to send PDF files via text.

Here's a link to the guide with a few more details.

We've Got Some Work to Do

We know our sharing features need improvement. I checked in with our team around what's on our todo list.

The wonderful Susan_Solo let me know that we have some solid updates in progress that should cut this sharing process down from five steps to just one or two.

I will also share this in our Ideas Hub so you can vote, share your thoughts, and get notified when the update goes live. I'll share the link to the suggestion here and -if it's okay with you- make sure you get notified when we've dialled things in.

Thanks again for reaching out and please keep the feedback and questions coming!
