Sign up fee deal

When I joined Solo by MYOB, there was a promotion of getting Solo for $1 per month for the first 12 months, which I paid ($12) on the day I signed up, but I received a bill for “February usage” yesterday and an email saying that the payment failed. Firstly the payment didn’t fail as I was lead to believe that I had already paid for 12 months. Can someone please explain what’s wrong here?? Was the promotion fake or a scam??

    When you sign up for Solo, your first invoice is generated within a few days of signing up. This will include the general charge for the subscription type you've chosen, minus any discounts or promotional offers. This invoice is due a week after it's generated.

    Hi Jayde,

     The advertisement that I signed up through, said that the first 12 months of SOLO was $12.00, which I paid on the day I signed up. I know this as it came out of my bank account. So why then am I being charged again on a monthly basis if I have already paid for the first 12 months (1year) ??

    Hey Solmate282​ we just wanted to confirm that a pre-authorisation is normally what is placed on your payment method on the day you sign up for Solo, but payment is not taken until the due date on your Solo subscription invoice (emailed to you as part of your Solo welcome pack). We would suggest checking the due date on your subscription invoice, as that will be the date that we attempted to take payment.
