Fixed term to Permanent
Hi what steps must I do to change an employee from a Fixed Term to a Permanent employee. They have not been getting Holiday Pay as they go but accumulating.

I understand the need to smoothly transition your employee to a permanent role while addressing their holiday pay concerns. To change an employee from a Fixed Term to a Permanent employee using their current card file in MYOB, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Payroll: Go to the Payroll section.
- Select Employees: Click on Employees and then select the name of the employee you want to update.
- Update Employment Details: Click on Payroll details, then Employment details. Under Employment category, choose Permanent.
For the Holiday pay, while still on the employee card file, go to Leave. Click on Holiday leave and ensure that Holiday pay is selected under Link wage pay item.

Unable to change it from Fixed term to permanent. There is no option of drop-down to select from.
Thanks for testing out the steps given by Doreen. It's a tad bit different when you are using an NZ file. In MYOB Business Pro (NZ), the employment status is locked once the employee is set up, so there’s no drop‑down to change fixed term to permanent.
To switch them:
- Finish the fixed‑term profile on their last fixed‑term day and tidy up any leave.
- Add a new employee profile as Permanent and use that one from now on.
