Payroll activity report not matching register report...

hello, an employee's activity report is $271.89 in excess of the Payroll register report.
the $271.89 corresponds to the amount they were paid in the Pay period: 01/07/2024 - 07/07/2024, as found via the:
Pay run history report
(unfortunately I don't seem to be able to export the week by week view, as 'export' shows an annual summary for all employees not just the employee in question, despite just selecting this one employee, so I have to work from the screen image)

So obviously the $271.89 wasn't 'registered' for this employee... I presume I have to add this payrun retrospectively?
I haven't finalised my annual statement as yet.

Thanks
Michael

    Hi hamptonandsouth

Noticed a difference between your Payroll Register and Payroll Activity reports? It usually means the pay history in the employee card isn't matching up with what’s showing in your actual payruns.

Basically, the Payroll Register takes its info from the employee card’s pay history, and the Payroll Activity report pulls from the payruns in your file. The trick is to work out which report is showing the right numbers.

If it’s the Payroll Register that’s off, just update the employee’s pay history to sort it out. If it looks like the payruns in the Payroll Activity report are the problem, double-check those payruns first, then tidy up the pay history if needed.

If you’re keen for a bit more detail, have a look at Doreen’s response in this thread.

  • thanks, we've updated an employee's pay so the payroll register now matches the payroll activity report.
Do we now have to 'send an update event' to the tax office?

    Hey hamptonandsouth,

Nice work getting your payroll register and payroll activity report lined up after updating the employee's pay. Always feels good to have everything matching. To make sure the ATO has the freshest figures from your payroll, it's a good idea to send through an update event. Keeps your records in tip-top shape.

    Cheers,

    Doreen
