Swapping payroll details from Payroll only to Business Lite

That move is certainly a bit of work, and it would be great if there were a more efficient way to do it. Payroll Only can’t be merged with an existing Business Lite file, so you’ll need to set up your employees and payroll details again in Business Lite.

 

Before cancelling Payroll Only, save any payroll and STP reports you need.

 

To keep your STP reporting continuous:

1. Set up STP in Business Lite.
2. Select Yes when asked if you used other payroll software this year.
3. Enter your previous Payroll Only BMS ID, not the new Software ID.
4. Wait for it to be accepted before processing your next pay.

You can then set up Pay Super in Business Lite. For help with this, see the Setting up Single Touch Payroll reporting article.

 

The Import/Export option may help you transfer some employee details, but it won’t transfer pay history, previous pay runs, or the rest of the payroll setup, so some manual setup will still be needed.
