Import and Export a Budget to CSV

(Same problem others have had but cannot find solution)

Wanting to Export a Budget to csv so that I can re-populate in Excel.

It will export to Excel but nothing happens when I choose the csv option in "export".

Exporting to Excel and repopulating then saving as csv DOESN'T work and message "The row count does not match the template."

I don't know what that means.

One of the replies says add a GST clearing account - I don't know what that means either.

Hours wasted, can I send someone my Chart of Accounts and have you send me back a csv template I can use maybe, OR tell me how to export to csv when the option is 'dead'.

Thanks

  • Hi MissPaully,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum.

We are still working on getting the export to CSV working again, but in the meantime, we have found if you add a GST clearing account you are able to export your budget to CSV. Click on business name in the top right corner >> Report Settings >> Select your GST clearing account. You can create a dummy account and disable this after you downloaded your CSV file.

I hope this helps. If you need further assistance with this, please feel free to post again. We are happy to help.

    Hi MissPaully,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum.

In this matter, the font sizes in MYOB are fixed for reports and no changes can be made to them. The only way to make any changes  or modify is to send the report to Excel and then making the necessary changes.

I have the same problem. I can't export the budget as a csv, even though I've clicked the GST button, and allocated an account.

And it's sad that the browser version of Accountright doesn't link to the budget in the desktop version. So my staff just use the desktop version, which is sad, because mostly the browser version is great!

    Hi Harley7,

The browser version of AccountRight has a lot going for it, but the budget not syncing with the desktop version is a bit of a limitation right now. For the CSV export issue, are you using Google Chrome or Edge? Sometimes switching browsers helps. Also, if the budget isn't exporting even after selecting GST and allocating an account, clearing the browser cache or trying an incognito window might do the trick.

If you still experiencing the problem, it's best to reach out to our live chat support through our virtual assistant MOCA or submit a case via MyAccount so they can further investigate about the issue.

    Regards,

    Sai
