Hi morta , last issue first, MYOB only allows one older version to overlap for a short time for cost and practicality.
Inventory issues like this can be very difficult to fix via the forum. I've done a lot of troubleshooting for clients' inventory since Adam was a teenager, and I'd be happy to assist you if MYOB support cannot. But try them first, either by lodging a support request via myaccount.myob.com, or via the online MOCA chat.
