Item Register Descrepencies

I have just tried to run an Item Register Report for selected dates, only to discover what is showing on screen is different to what is actually printed.  Here is what is showing in the items register screen within MYOB Desktop version. 

And here is what shows in the reports window: 

Can anybody explain why there is a 26 item difference for exactly the same report in 2 different places?  We certainly don't have 113 items. We've done a stocktake and can only account for 69 physical items.  So  I am trying to find out why the item count is so wrong.

    Thanks for replying Mike. No I don't have the ability to use locations.  I have been using MYOB this time around for 12 years. I can't recall ever having this issue before. It doesn't seem right that if everytime you check if you have something in stock that you'd need to run a full report!  That's not very efficient if you have a customer standing right there. Even in the item list, the quantity doesn't match the report. How can this be fixed?

    Hi Verdant​ , the on-screen register has accuracy issues. The printed report is usually correct. Do you by any chance use locations?
