Un-building built items

How do you un-build built inventory items into it's individual parts?

We buy and sell inventory items and also build items using these and sell them. That’s pretty strait forward. But we also buy built items and inventory them and sell them complete or their individual parts. All items and their parts are tracked inventory items.

Is there a strait forward way to un-build the ones we buy so we can sell the individual parts?

Example:

AB is an inventory item that we buy and sell.

XY is an inventory item that we buy and sell.

AB-XY is an assembled (built) item that we buy and sell and track in inventory.

When we receive an order for 1x AB but don't have any in stock but we have AB-XY in stock, we disassemble one AB-XY into it's parts so we can sell 1x AB. We then have an extra XY in stock.

Generate an autobuild transaction for one of your existing autobuild items - MYOB simply prepares an Inventory Adjustment Journal with -1 for each component and +1 for the autobuild item. Cancel unless you newed to process it.

To reverse autobuild you will simply prepare an inventory adjustment journal that achieves the same thing. You can then re-enter when required or export that inventory adjustment journal and prepare it as an import template. When you need it to use it, import it.

More info about autobuild and inventory adjustment journals as well as importing and exporting can be found on the Support section.

      Hi Gaven,

Thank you very much for the fast solution.

So to reverse autobuild, I open an inventory adjustment where I put -1 for the built item and +1 for each component?
