AccountRight Single Sign-On EAP

We’re rolling out Early Access for Single Sign On (SSO) in AccountRight.

We've selected a small group of users who will be participating in the early access program, if this is you, you’ll see a smoother sign in experience between the desktop and browser.

  • Sign in once to move between desktop and browser
  • Your email address is pre-filled on login screens
  • Works with your preferred password manager

Here are a few extra details about how it works:

  • Single Sign On is only available for online files, so your file will need to be online to access this feature.

Works with your default browser and password manager

  • You can use password managers that are enabled in your default browser for both desktop and browser sign in.
  • When you sign in from AccountRight, it will automatically open and use the default browser set on your computer.
  • Supported browsers are Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

Inactivity timeouts

  • Inactivity timeouts still apply to browser session – you’ll be signed out after 30 minutes of inactivity.
  • If you’re logged into both the AccountRight desktop and browser at the same time, each session operates independently. Being active in desktop doesn’t sign you out of the browser (and vice versa), and the inactivity timers for each session are separate.
  • Single sign-out isn’t available yet. You’ll still need to sign out separately from both the desktop and the browser.

If you have any feedback or questions, feel free to leave a comment below – we’d love to hear how the new sign in is working for you.

Hi mumof2 , there is nothing abnormal here, you have experienced the new Single Sign On flow - we have streamlined how logins are done in Accountright, and one of the benefits is that now the login screen is password manager friendly, no need to input your email everysingle time. The 2FA code was likely not required as you may have authenticated earlier (2FA sessions last 24 hours).

Hi all, our team has deployed a fix for the payroll error. If you are impacted, please logout and log back in to pick up the fix. Thanks for your patience while we got this sorted.

Hi Mike_MYOB, thanks, the payroll works now, but the SSO function is gone. I'm back to facing this screen without the SSO popping up on a browser and have to manually login again. Of course I'd rather face this issue than not being able to run payruns. But I believe the issues are connected.

SSO login is back for me and I am still getting the "something's gone wrong and MYOB has to close" when clicking on Process Payroll. Can this please be fixed asap. Totally frustrating.

Hi mumof2 , we released a patch to fix this and then enabled SSO again on Monday this week.
Please make sure you have the latest version and then there should be no issues. Thanks!

OK thanks, I logged out and logged back in and working now. Thanks for your prompt reply.

  • Hi Mike, today our Accountright MYOB company files updated to this new feature.  We have desktop and online browser.  However, now that this feature has been activated, I can only be in one file at a time.  This is cumbersome and tiresome as I work with multiple files all day.  I have to log out of one in order to be in another file.  Is there some way to get around this?

So does this mean we will finally be able to use SAML or OAuth and our own identity provider to be able to manage single sign on ?

Hi, has the SSO sign in been removed again? I've been prompted to sign in with password on the desktop application itself again.

Hi Non-For-Profit , yes we disabled SSO temporarily again in the afternoon last Friday 20th March.
We released the feature to all customers with the AccountRight monthly update on the 18th but encountered a bug plus customer feedback that led us to the decision to disable it.
We will work through the feedback and hope to turn this on again soon. Regards, Mike
