I understand you need to know whether you can access your records if the ATO audits you five years after retirement.
Eligible customers can keep their data on a paid Read-Only plan, billed monthly until cancelled. The separate option to reinstate the final backup is limited to 12 months after cancellation and requires an active AccountRight subscription. See the Read-Only plan terms.
Server Edition isn’t a guaranteed long-term option. If you don’t take up the Read-Only plan, it's best to export your data and reports before cancelling. For advice on what to keep for an ATO audit, check with the ATO or your accountant.

Does MYOB plan to share any further information about the long-term future of the Server Edition? Asking customers to make decisions under this level of uncertainty is further damaging MYOB’s reputation for reliability.

I get where your concern about the details is coming from. You don’t need to start the Read-Only plan immediately. The offer is available to accept until 31 December 2026, so you don’t need to start it today. The plan is $2.50 per month until cancelled. The offer terms don’t specify the exact date of the first charge, so please confirm that with the support team before signing up.
Server Edition isn’t a long-term option. It will eventually be phased out, but no date has been confirmed. Since 17 June 2026, it has received only bug fixes, with no new features or security enhancements.
