Server 2022 now very sluggish opening SE 2026.5

Hi Folks

 

Not sure of problem but it really sounds like possibly an internet side issue - my server is new - and AR SE runs on it fabulously - has for donkey years.

 

Today - client says can't get into MYOB - problem as before - fix registry myob-arl issue ....

 

But SE 2026.5 just will not open for 1 -2 mins - and when it does it tries to open a file and times out.

 

I have uninstalled SE 2026.5 - rebooted and the internet speed to that server is lighning fast 500 mb up and down.

 

When trying to open - task manager shows minor cpu activity and a few mb of memory - but it seems some sort of external reference AR SE needs to do is sluggish .... yet from my laptop at home - I have AR SE 2026.5 installed the same client file opens instantly.

 

It is not s server issue - and if a port was blocked it wouldn't open and display files available - and I have been running this client server for 20 years plus - but this has happened with AR SE 2026.5 .....

Might try opening SE 2026.4 ....... 

 

Any ideas - the reason I ask is it seems to be pointing to a internet access problem that from the server to MYOB cloud is sluggish not the internet - yet from my home - it is fine.

    Solved - but not by MYOB support even though I posted an urgent help .......

    The forum - I was hoping an IT person might just give me a heads up.

    The problem was Crowdstrike Falcon suddenly saw MYOB https port 443 as 'suspicious' and kept looking at each call and it took 1 min 30 sec for approval ...... hence MYOB appeared incredibly sluggish. 

    Once we updated the firewall rules for Crowdstrike - voila MYOB worked fine.

     

    The question MYOB which you can answer quickly please....

     

    Can you give me a list of all port 80, port 443 https calls made during MYOB's SE opening - this will help in future.

    I could ask 'Fiddler Everywhere' to check but I think my subscription has expired.

    Hi All

    Didn't expect MYOB would jump to this quickly - seems problem is combination permissions and firewall - we use Falcon Crowdstrike and it does not take prisoners - it seems it has now identified MYOB as a Restricted Application and hence wouldn't allow it to write to the home directory.

    Also https port 443 is the grief port - we have now opened it unrestricted - and MYOB is now working.

     

    This is not great stuff MYOB with all these changes and fixes Windows and Falcon Crowdstrike threw its toys out of the cot.

     

    Anyways - we are homing in on the cause of this problem.

     

    Interestingly - why then if I turn off internet access on my laptop running AR SE 2026.5 - it still opens and runs a local file - yet on my server it just hangs - of course if we turn off internet access - no RDP !!

     

    Will keep you posted for anyone that just may need some of this info.

    In hindsight I am not convinced this hasn't been triggered by MYOBs updates - I have checked 2 other Servers and MYOB SE 2026.5 seems to be running on this perfectly - yet on my new Server 2022 - which has been running fine with a lot of software - suddenly when I open 2026.4 or 2026.5 I get this

     

    It eventually opens but you can't open a file - local or online because the app is running very slowly - sluggish so the opening process just times out.

     

    The server runs many MYOB clients and has for 20 years - MYOB has never done this.

    This has happened in the last day...... 

     

    I have uninstalled 2026.5 and reinstalled 2026.4 - same problem.

    Try to open a small local file - it just is too sluggish yet every other software on this server runs perfectly including MS Access, MS Office professional and up to 10 clients.

     

    The internet speed is lightning fast - I have turned off the internet on my laptop - SE 2026.5 takes a bit more time to open but it runs perfectly opening a local file.

     

    If you look at the app under task Manager - it isn't using resources - it seems to be just very slow .......

     

    Other than a complete purge of MYOB and then re-install I am stumped.

    Hi ALL

     

    It seems, this time, not an MYOB problem - and overnight update - we are checking logs.

    My home laptop runs fine.

    Our internal staff MYOB server - runs fine 2026.5

    My Client MYOB Server 2022 - hanging and very slow - 'Loading Features' ....... eventually gets there but opening an online file is being hung on a time out on some sort of feature that isn't loading

     

    Tech is checking logs.

     

    Anyone out there got a list of URLs that SE checks before opening - got to be causing the problem - this is a new super fast server that 'works' unless MYOB stuff things which they have recently - that has been handled but this problem started this morning?
