AccountRight - Imported items - now it has inverted commas in the description? ".........."
Hi PF_1
If you open the import file using notepad - there you will find all the quote marks. Common problem and reason why it is important to do a backup before any import - as you cannot 'undo' and such errors. Options are to change each on onscreen, try to fix via import, or get a myob specialist to fix for you (send me a private message for contact details).
This happens when you use excel to create a tab delimited or comma delimited file. If a field has a comma, such as $1,234.00 or Tom, Jerry - excel will save this as "$1,234.00" and "Tom, Jerry" in order to preserve the comma.
After creating the import file you could use notepad to search and replace all quotes marks with nothing. However this will also remove quote marks you wanted such as '3/4" socket'. There are workarounds however this is a little complicated to explain here.
