So we can advise how to fix this, can you please describe the exact steps that were followed. If possible, please attach a screenshot of the entire invoice, it's complete history screen, what's appearing in the returns and credits tab and if the impacted invoice was reversed to settle the credit. You're welcome to send these by Private Message if they contain sensitive information.
