Invoice shows zero balance / unbalanced transaction and no payment has been applied

Hi, I have a sale which shows a zero balance but no payment has been applied.

If I look at the invoice history (see image below), in the charge column it show the sales $2040 and a transfer from deposits $2040. On the payments side it shows a transfer from deposits $2040 but no payment at all. So the column figures are unbalanced yet the invoice balance shows zero.

I called Support about this on Friday, as I can only assume this issue is in the back end of Myob, as from an accounting point of view I can't see how this can happen. Frustratingly I spent two hours on the phone with a support technician who consulted a 'specialist' but ultimately told me 'there is no option' to fix this and I now have an email to say the case is closed. Since I believe this is a MYOB issue I think that's appalling but hoping I can get some help via the community as my financials will now be incorrect due to this rogue invoice. Any assistance would be appreciated thanks.

    Hi JHealKW,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot, and I can see why this looks confusing. Based on the transaction history, the invoice appears to have been fully settled: the $2,040 sale is offset by a matching $2,040 Transfer from deposits entry, and the Balance Due is $0.00. In AccountRight, a Transfer from deposits is created when a customer deposit has been recorded against a sales order and that order is later converted to an invoice. AccountRight transfers the deposit to the invoice, so it may not appear as a separate standard payment transaction.

If the deposit has been applied incorrectly or needs to be removed, it should not be deleted directly from the invoice. The invoice needs to be reversed first, following the steps in here: Customer deposits on sales orders.

    Regards,
