Hi, Jodee_W
Thanks for your post.
We understand your frustration with converting MYOB invoices to machine-readable PDFs for your Basware-using client. It's a hurdle, but don't worry, there are solutions! Here are some options to consider:
1. Utilize Third-Party Software:
- PDF to Searchable PDF Converters: Tools like Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Nitro Pro, or Sejda OCR can convert existing image-based PDFs to searchable ones with editable text. Be sure they offer accurate PDF/A compatibility for Basware.
- MYOB Add-ons: Check the MYOB App Marketplace for add-ons like "AutoEntry" or "DEXT". These offer automated data extraction and export to various formats, including machine-readable PDFs.
2. Workaround within MYOB:
- Print to "Microsoft Print to PDF": Instead of directly saving as PDF, select "Microsoft Print to PDF" as your printer in MYOB. This may create a more text-aware PDF in some cases.
- Combine PDF and Data File: Export the invoice data from MYOB (CSV or similar) and create a template in your PDF editor (e.g., Word) with merge fields. Then, use the exported data to populate the fields and save it as a final, machine-readable PDF.
Please let us know if you require further assistance with this.
Best regards,
Doreen
