This particular error message could be caused due to a number of reasons, some of them being invalid characters around amounts in the import file, missing blank lines between different sale transactions, etc. However, so we can investigate specifically on what's causing the error in your case, can you please attach a sample import file here.

Thanks for attaching the file. The import file has a $ symbol around the figures in amount columns. I've removed the symbols and attached a sample file for your reference. Please format your import file according to that and you should be able to import it without getting the invalid amount error.
