    When a payment is linked to a sale or purchase, it's necessary to first undo the payment before you can reverse the sale or purchase. It's important to adjust the security preference prior to attempting to reverse or delete a transaction.

     

    In this situation, as you've reversed the invoice transaction and now have a balance of $30 on your return and credit/debit section, you'll need to settle the credit/debit. Please check out the following helpful articles for guidance on handling this type of transaction:

Hi

I'm trying to seek help on the same topic. The problem is I cannot delete or reverse this entry. I got a message: "You may not delete a deposit transaction for a recorded sale". It causes an out-of-balance in the Receivable reconciliation. My MYOB version is AccountRight. Thanks, and I appreciate your help,

Hi vDa89,

 

This error message, "You may not delete a deposit transaction for a recorded sale," indicates that the transaction is linked to a recorded sale and thus cannot be deleted directly. You may need to consult the Company Data Auditor tool to identify any other discrepancies. Reconcile invoices with the linked receivables account. The total of all customer balances is compared to the current balance of the linked receivables account. If there's an out-of-balance amount, click Display to view the Receivables Reconciliation Exceptions report and analyze the details of the report. See this link for more detailed information.
