Reaching out to both MYOB support and ATO for this past financial year's amendment is certainly the right call.
Just to be upfront about what the software can do today: MYOB can only send or amend STP events for the current payroll year and the immediately prior year. There isn’t a way in AccountRight to reopen or re-lodge STP for 2023–24 or earlier, and there’s no switch we can turn on to make a 5-year window available; that option simply doesn’t exist in the product.
Because of that, any correction to your employee’s 2023–24 income statement now has to be handled directly by the ATO, not via another STP event from MYOB. When you speak with them, it can help to:
- Explain that MYOB software only supports STP amendments for the current + 1 prior year,
- Provide your MYOB payroll reports showing the amounts that should have been treated as reimbursements, and
- Ask their STP/employer reporting team what correction path they want used for that older year.
