ATO SAYING SUPER GUARANTEE WRONG

I have received a letter from the ATO advising that I may have not met our super guarantee obligations. Every thing matches : the ABN etc., and I have checked that the payments have been made from the Superfund and our bank records show payments to Superfund.

The big issue is that 1 employee is not on the list of the SG shortfall for inclusion in the SGC statement.

Question:  How can I print/download a copy of the Super Payments sent to the ATO. I have the ones sent to the super fund, need to know what was sent to the ATO, as somewhere there is a missing link, as 1 employee is not on their list and the other 3 employees are stated as not being paid.

If anyone can help that would be great.  Also a quick note, one of the owners passed away during the time period and a new ABN was issued. The Superfund said that this was fixed, again strange that 1 employee is not on the list.

    Hey prosplumb,

You've already done the right checks by confirming the ABN change, reviewing your bank records, and comparing this with the super fund’s information. Since MYOB doesn't store a copy of what the ATO holds, there's no “super sent to ATO” history that you can view. What you can rely on is what was actually processed in your payroll. Running the Superannuation Payments by Fund or Superannuation Payments by Employee reports for the period will give you a clear record of the super that was paid from your file.

If one employee isn't appearing the same as the others, a common cause is their super fund setup. If the fund does not have Pay directly from AccountRight selected, their contribution may not have been processed through Pay Super with the rest.

If everything in the file looks correct but the ATO information still doesn't line up, it's best to contact our support team so they can check the employee setup and super payments with you directly. You can reach them on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account.

    Cheers,

    Doreen
