Incorrect tax file category how to fix payruns

I have set up a new payroll for a client and one of the employees selected thw incorrect tax category when onboarding and has been over taxed. I was only notified of this after 4 payruns how do I go about correcting this.

    Hi Janelle8,

     

    If the set pay categories cause incorrect tax values, you can open each category and correct the tax information on it. After correcting the pay categories, you can send an update event to fix the values. You can read through this thread for more reference into the process.

      It wasn't the pay categries that were incorrect it was the tax category hterefore employee was over taxed

        Hi Janelle8,

         

        Thanks for clearing that up! You have two options to tackle this:

        • Calculate the overpaid or underpaid PAYG tax and adjust it in the next pay run.
        • Create a separate pay run to adjust the value against the PAYG category and zero out the other payroll categories.
