Forum Discussion
I followed the exact steps as listed by your moderator in the link you just included. Did that before entering the new person. After clicking on "enter manually", the only option as the bottom was Send and Close. I assumed Close would lose all the info I just entered. What should I have chosen? You think the word "Save" would be in their somewhere.
Yes, "over MYOB" is putting it nicely. What's the solution that involves NOTHING AT ALL being emailed or SMS'd to the new employee?
As in, just like it always was where the company enters it all so we can control upper/lower case, spelling issues, errors etc. There are many reasons why we want to do this manually, let alone you sharing our details with this other mob you are in bed with.
Quick question Doreen. AI or real person?
Hi DJMX5,
Yeah, manual is still king if you want every name and detail exactly how you type it.
There’s still no global “off” switch for employee self‑onboarding, but you can (a) keep it manual and (b) cancel any invite that’s already gone out.
To keep it fully manual (no email/SMS):
- In the browser, go to Payroll > Employees.
- Click Create employee.
- Enter their details.
- On the save button, choose “Set up your employee manually” / “Enter manually” (wording can vary).
That path won’t send a self‑onboarding request; you just enter everything yourself like before.
To cancel an invite that’s already been created:
- In the browser, go to Payroll > Employees.
- Open the Self‑onboarding invites list at the top right.
- Find the employee, click the three dots (…).
- Choose Cancel invite and confirm.
That removes it from the list and kills the link, so they can’t complete anything.
If you want more detail, this article shows the invite list and the Cancel option:
