Not declaring a payroll reversal so owing ATO incorrect amount?

I reversed an incorrect pay for one employee and unfortunately failed to declare the reversal to the ATO.  To rectify this I re-entered the pay and did not declare it then reversed again and declared it (if that makes sense)  I hoped it would balance out with the ATO but it has somehow doubled the imbalance with what we owe to the ATO. Help would be appreciated. I did use this method in the past and it seemed to work

thankyou

    Hi GORRE,

Payroll reversals and the ATO can definitely get a bit messy, so you're not alone there. Normally if the reversal wasn't declared, sending an update event would tidy things up nicely. But since things have doubled instead, the best next step is to jump onto our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account. Our support team can dig into STP history and help straighten it all out so everything matches what the ATO should see.

    Regards,

    Sai
