Payroll reversal not flowing through to STP Reporting

In January I processed a pay for an employee on the 24/01 for period 19/01 to 25/01. I then had to reverse that pay and ran a new pay for the same period on a different day being the 29/01.

Today I have run my reports to allow me to lodge our IAS and SGC, which I do directly through the ATO portal. The MYOB reports all balance with the Payroll activity & register reports, but the STP report does not reflect the pay reversal from the 24th.

I have run two update events in both MYOB and STP Reporting Centre, but STP Reporting is still not showing the pay reversal from the 24th, only a zero value update.

Any assistance appreciated.

  • Hi BenchCBS

The STP report sometimes does not match the other payroll reports for various reason. However, as long as your Payroll Register, Activity, and YTD verification reports match, there won't be any issues in reporting this to the ATO. I recommend reading through this forum thread for more insight regarding this.

    Hey BenchCBS,

In the STP reporting window, a reversal usually shows as $0.00. This is simply because it cancels out the original payroll for reporting purposes. But no worries, this doesn't mean there's an error. As long as the updated figures are showing correctly in your payroll reports, like the Payroll Register and YTD verification reports, you're all set.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

      Hi Doreen

The problem is that the STP reporting does not match MYOB reporting. The STP shows a figure exclusive of the pay that was reversed, whereas MYOB shows the figure inclusive of the reversal.
