STP reporting stuck in Phase 1

I recently moved online from MYOB v19 to online Accountright version. Since this version has payroll, I thought I might move my STP reporting to AccountRight. Previously I was entering the timesheet and pay in MYOB19 and duplicate pay on another payroll software (Payroller), which notify the ATO via STP.

I went through the whole process of setup STP on AccountRight, register with ATO through Access Manager which is now active. At the last stage, AccountRight said that I am in STP Phase I and could not proceed from there. Online Help said phase 1 conversion to phase 2 is no longer supported, and that I have to contact my payroll manager. I wonder who that is.

I rang help line, who tried to help. Eventually says I have to contact ATO, which basically set up a round and round loop.

Can someone help?

Surely this is a software issue , rather than ATO approval. I am now stuck with this screen every time I click STP reporting, and nothing else would happen.

Much appreciated

Basil

    Hi Basil,

I have the exact same issue in the last fortnight and have still not received a resolution.  I agree it is a software issue, not ATO - however MYOB have no assistance beyond the message you have screenshot.  The ATO advise it's not their issue - the company has been re-registered for PAYG W/H and should be able to lodge through STP2.

My situation has come about due to a company not employing for a number of years.  They have now recommenced employing, during which time STP2 was introduced.  I'm thinking I'll have to setup another software subscription other than MYOB to test and swap if it works.

We shouldn't have to go to this extent to work around though.

Hopefully someone can provide some advise!

    Kind Regards,

    Dee

    Hi Slab and Deanne001

We have published information available that should help with making the change, I have included the link below.

The change from STP Phase 1 to Phase 2 can be complex which is why we recommend speaking with an accountant or reviewing the ATOs guidelines but you should not have been told it was an 'ATO issue' - sorry that you were provided that advice.

Moving to STP Phase 2 after the STP Phase 1 shutdown
