Our team is currently investigating the cause of this issue.
Can you please check the version of windows you are on, if it isn't up to date, can you please update and then try again? Please let me know what version you were on, the version you upgraded to, and if it still gives you the error.
As a current workaround, you are able to put your file online and then log in using the browser version at app.myob.com and process the pay run.
I have had the same issue for the last week and when I phoned today I was told it is because we MUST IMMEDIATELY move our file online to the cloud, that we can no longer do STP without being in the cloud.
She said we were sent an email a couple of weeks ago telling us this was going to happen.
We did not get any such email.

If you are getting the same error, it could be because of the Windows version. To ensure that they are using a supported version. Please see our System requirements page for currently supported operating systems ( Australia | New Zealand )
The other workaround for this current issue is putting your file online and logging in through the web browser at app.myob.com to process the pay run.
In regards to what you have been told about not being able to do STP unless the file is online, this is true if you are on STP phase 2. STP phase 2 requires you to have your file online.
If you are still using STP phase 1 you don't need to have your file online, but you have until 1 January 2023 to make the move. This is when it is mandatory to be on STP phase 2.

HI Chris, has the windows version requirement changed in the last week?
If we have been reporting our STP files etc up until last Wednesday why would the windows or browser versions suddenly be an issue unless MYOB changed something?And as I say when I phoned and spoke to MYOB she said we had no choice and MUST move the file ONLINE
we have not chosen to move to Phase 2 or done anything in the last week to make that change
so unless MYOB have forced us to?
and where the little message comes up about moving to Phase 2 from 1 Jan, if you click the Get Started button it says your file has to be inthe cloud to move to Phase 2. So we cannot have already moved to Phase 2?

For the last week I have been unable check payroll details or send the STP file to the ATO. I run my files on the server edition. Today by phone MYOB support told me they sent me an email weeks ago (which they did not) saying we now have NO choice and the deferral to 1 Jan is no longer valid and we have to immediately move our files to the cloud to stay compliant. She refused to escalate me to anyone else and said I MUST move the files to the cloud. We are VERY unhappy about this lack of notice/preparation period.
If this is true MYOB should be announcing this more broadly, sending more than one email, and checking people have received the email. I did not and do not believe the email was ever sent. She quoted a second email address which is a user that left years ago who was not ever an administrator. The other owner/administrator of our company files also did not receive any email.
