Unpaid public holday

Hi, I am employing an employee and paying him a fixed amount every week. He didn't take any day off during the year even on public holidays.

I know that employer supposes to pay employees a higher rate if they work on public holidays.

So what I want to ask is that I didn't pay him a higher salary on public holidays even though he went to work normally, could I pay him the amount he was supposed to receive when he worked on public holidays now?

I would really thankful if anyone could help me with this. Thank you so much.

Thanks for your post. The Help Article, Back pay, has detailed instructions for setting up and processing back pays. I'd also recommend checking with the ATO on calculating PAYG withholding to ensure the correct amount is withheld. This link to the ATO website has information on back payments and PAYG calculations: Back payments

Please let me know if you need further help.
