Send the financial year's data to my accountant.

I reached out on FB Messenger to MYOB & was told to go away & talk to the AI chat, which I've found to be worse than useless. MYOB does not seem interested in helping me, despite the fact I've been using MYOB since starting my business 30+ years ago. I used to be able to ring MYOB & they would help me troubleshoot, but not any more.

 

Forcing me to go online totally has created a raft of problems. I used to be able to download my end of year data onto my desktop in order to send the zip file to my accountant. I now can't do that. Can anybody help me with a workaround solution?

  • Not good enough. I need a downloadable copy. My accountant couldn't even download the data file. How can I close off the previous year's accounts? We own our data, not MYOB. What MYOB has effectively done is hold us to ransom, in my opinion.

    Hi baypark,

    Thanks for raising this here. We appreciate your patience while our support teams are managing high demand across our channels. Because your company file is already online, the backup won’t download as a normal file to your computer anymore. In this version, online backups are stored in the MYOB cloud and can be accessed from within AccountRight when needed.
     

    If your accountant needs to work on the file, the easiest option is usually to give them access to the online file rather than sending a backup copy. Online files are designed to make it easier to securely share access with your accountant and collaborate in real time.
