Payday Super - being able to choose date of payment

Over Christmas period I do payroll in advance as I have only salary employees.  With the current Payday Super setup in MYOB, super will be paid before staff get paid!  There is currently no option to choose a future date to process and pay super.  This is pretty vital as it makes no sense to not be able to choose a payment date and super being paid in advance of actual payday.

  • Totally agree with all comments above. Postdating of the Authorisation Date is essential, just like postdating a payrun. I do payroll for 3 small businesses & work part-time, so I often have to setup the payruns in advance, especially when I go on leave. It's been such a headache having to remember to authorise the Super for each of the companies Paydays on the actual days they're due, especially when it often falls on my non-working days. The current situation is not acceptable. I shouldn't have to work on my days off nor when I'm on holidays.

  • I have noticed, about 18th Sep 2026 it changed from ... Friday I could process payroll with a following Monday pay date and set up a pay super payment for that Monday. The super would debit the bank account on the Monday if I put the Monday date in (even though I was processing and authorising the transaction the Friday before). Sometime around 18th Sep I noticed this changed, even though I entered the Monday date for the Pay super screen transaction date it debited the bank on the Friday (before). I have just had a client have her super bounce back due to lack of funds because the super was debited on the day she processed, not the date she entered. She planned to transfer funds into her bank account but the bank was debited before her funds went in to cover it. I have more than one client who does this sort of thing ie transfers to cover just what needs to be paid. I think this new idea of not allowing the user to select the payment date is very dangerous. What if the user does not look at their bookkeeping everyday? How would they be aware, in time, that super was not paid?? Is MYOB going to pay the pe

nalties for late super for them????? PLEASE change this back to the debit date being that of the pay super transaction date

  • Further to this suggestion - WHY doesn't the system have the linked bank account pre-set so the client, doesn't need to choose the correct account for each super payment.

This seems to leave it open for error.

  • Hoping someone can help answer my question....

We are a small business of only 2 employees. We pay ourselves weekly as scheduled payments to our bank account, however I process the pays and pay the super through AccountRight monthly (end of month) every month. Do I need to change my processes and start processing the pay and paying the super weekly? Am hoping not :(

I would like to add another vote for this... being that MYOB is geared for Small Business would really appreciate improvements to the issues that affect our clients by prioritising these issues.

I do a monthly payroll on the 15th every month for one client. Today, for example, I have posted and scheduled payroll payments for their pay to be made on the 15th. With MYOBSuper - I only have the option of paying the super early, or trying to remember to log in on Wed push the payment through. Either option is not fantastic as cashflow is affected earlier than necessary - or I run the risk of not possibly sending the batch as I now have to go back into a client file on a day that I wouldn't ordinarily have to revisit. Please!!!! Add this function for us :-)

Yah need this because when a payday super is authorised after 4pm it sometimes processes same day and deducts from account and sometimes does it the next day.  If you could just forward date one day there would be no issues with the bank rec.
