This is not just an issue for online payments – this is an issue for any invoice summary showing in any email, whether online payments are being used or not.
We work in the health industry and provide patients with a PDF version of their invoice which shows various pieces of information required for Medicare claiming. The problem with the invoice summary is that it shows information from the current version of the client card, not the information that was extant at the time the invoice was produced. As a result, clients who try to claim from Medicare using printouts of the invoice summary have their claims rejected because their date of referral is wrong, their address has subsequently been changed etc. We then get our patients contacting us and telling us that we have used the wrong information whereas in fact, the information is correct on the PDF version of the invoice and the information that MYOB is picking up in the invoice summary represents overwritten versions of such data and inconsistent with the information that was accurate at the time of the original invoice.
When on earth are we going to get the option to remove this change that was forced upon us by MYOB without any consultation??

Hi AmandaMYOB or anyone else interested in MYOB Help
Is there progress on our voting for this to be altered? Will we have the option in the near future to be able to revert to plain invoices? Not seeing the point in wasting time voting if its going to be ignored... or is there a 100 vote limit before MYOB users concerns are looked at?

That information should only be an option, not a default. I should be able to send an invoice the same way the order is sent, with only a PDF for the customer to view. It was always like that, and then, without any notice, this was changed. It was only because I sent an invoice to myself for a different reason that I found out much more information was being sent than I was willing to share.

I've always thought MYOB didn't actually use their own product... although our invoice today is a blank white PDF, so maybe they do.

The irony is I just received last months invoice from MYOB for Customer online payment charges and it comes as a pdf with no preview summary in the body of the email...PLEASE remove it as no-one wants it..

My guess? 99% of the ones who use it. We only discovered by accident when emailing ourselves an invoice to forward to a customer whose system won't accept MYOB generated invoices...

It would be interesting to find out how many companies using MYOB are sending out their invoices totally unaware that their customers can see the time billing breakdown.

Same for us. Totally agree.

Penny740, I feel the same exactly. It's terrible that it wasn't asked for it and it was changed without a vote. Now they say users have to come here to vote to remove it. How insulting. How many MYOB customers are told about this voting mechanism and where is it for users to find? Just on this mini forum?
It's a covert way of giving users something to follow that they know has ZERO intention of rectifying.
Such a failure of a major platform.
I don't Xero has this by default for all customers. Looking there now.

The invoice summary is there when we send an invoice online. We are not using the option of online payments.
This has resulted in sensitive company information being released in the form of the breakdown of our costs for a job - when all we want the client to see is the total amount.
The instructions given to remove it only relate to statements - not the invoices.
We didn't request this and there is no way to opt out.
Might be looking at XERO as MYOB have done nothing to rectify this problem
