STP2 Deduction Categories

I'm transitioning to STP2 and don't know which category to assign these 2 Deductions to. The options in the drop-down menu don't seem appropriate.

The categories were created to deduct additional PAYG for a casual employee with 2 high-paying jobs and to ensure he didn't have a tax debt at the end of the financial year.

We no longer use the two deduction categories, however, there are transactions in the current payroll year in the categories so I need to assign a category to them.

Which one of the ATO categories is the appropriate one to use?

Re: STP2 Deduction Categories

Hello @Mylene

Thank you for your post.

Generally, if the deduction that you have set up doesn't fall under one of the categories listed it will be "Not reportable"

Please have a look at our Help Article on assigning ATO reporting categories which have a fantastic table listening to what each category is used for. If you are still unsure which one to set it as I would suggest speaking to your financial advisor.

Kind regards,
Chris

Re: STP2 Deduction Categories

Thanks Chris.

I've set them to Not Reportable. My accountant recommended the same.
