Would I need to enter additional hours or just enter a $ amount. I am concerned with STP reporting, it would become quite messy and likely incorrect. The idea is for the employee to get some money upfront to be repaid later from his wages. Alternatively I would consider giving him the money privately and for the employee to repay me back privately. Any comments on either path? Re: Payroll cycle Hi Doreen, I played with this earlier today to see how MYOB would handle this but this caused the tax being calculated incorrectly. I made three pretend pays for normal payrun split payrun A for 7 days and split payrun B for 3 days For this to work, the tax withheld for the combined split payruns should be the same as for the usual payrun but this is not the case. I suppose this is due to the fact that forthnightly pays have a certain tax rate/ratio applied and if you change this to 7 days / 3 days and pay in two installments, things are not running as expected. Total tax withheld is short. Payroll cycle A company will change ownership on 31. December and the agreement is that all income and expenses up to that date are covered by the original owners and any income and expenses in 2025 accrue to the new owners. The Company keeps trading and the employee arrangements remain unchanged. Currently the paycycle is fortnightly and payday will fall on 22. December and 6 January. What is the best option to deal with payroll? I see Option A: do one payroll on 31. December and a second one on 6 January and then resume fortnightly. This will make allocation of expenses easy but I am not sure how this affects taxation of staff since each payroll is different from the standard fortnight set up in MYOB. In addition Super will have to be paid and calculated too for the 4th quarter 2024. Option B: Do normal paycycles and adjust between parties on settlement though this may be more difficult to sort out the details Does anyone have some advice for me? SolvedRe: Sending invoices from MYOB Mine say invoices are created but not sent. Went through this twice already and confirmed with recipients that they have not received their invoices nor have I received my CC. Checked my settings and my default email for invoices, payroll is correct. Re: Finalise and Notify ATO for YearEnd Doreen, that's what I thought but as I don't think I did the finalisation yet, I am not sure how this happened. I had some other issue before and maybe the accountant did this already. Finalise and Notify ATO for YearEnd I made the last payrun in June and prepared the process for finalising year end, following the guidelines. This morning I intended to enter the first payroll for 2025 after finalising and notifying the ATO. So I was surprised to see a mygov notice that my own pay was already finalised. Going into MYOB I can see for all employees the final indicator ticked (see attachment). It also seems that if I were to do the step I thought was outstanding and I quote from the help file: Select each employee you want to finalise, then if you're on STP Phase 1, click Set as Final if you're on STP Phase 2, click Finalise and notify the ATO then I would actually remove finalisation. Am I reading the screen correctly and are all pays already finalised with the ATO? Cheers Tom SolvedSTP Termination to ATO prematurely I have done the final pays for 2024 and was trying to tie up some loose ends including termination staff that left earlier in MYOB (making them inactive) as well as reporting them as terminated to the ATO via Employee terminations. I was planning to do the final EOFY finalisation later this week. Having reported some of those employees as terminated, I included one staff - Casual and had previously looked up his last date as 3/2/23. Some of the casuals I don't necessarily report each year as terminated if there is a chance they come back. Unfortunately in this case I subsequently realised that he indeed worked two more fortnights in July 23, falling into this financial year. So expecting a problem with him being terminated in 2023 but being paid in 2024, I activated his card, processed a Zero Payroll, hoping this would update MYOB and allow me to then terminate him with the correct date in 18/07 23. Unfortunately I am unable to undo this in STP Employee terminations and only get an error message that something went wrong and some request ID. I am not sure if the error message is from the ATO or MYOB but either way I am not sure how to contact them or how to fix this issue. Bottom line is that our Payroll Activity Reports etc all were correct and matched, so I was ready to finalise except that I am now concerned that the incorrect termination prior to this financial year being ruled off will cause issues. Any advice will be appreciated. Tom SolvedEOFY Super Payment I am getting organised for the EOFY processes and notice the following advice in the helpful guides: To include super contributions in the 2023/2024 financial year, make your super payments by 4pm (AEST) 19 June 2024. How do I know the appropriate super figures by the 19th June when there is still payroll to be processed subsequent to that date? Some staff are casual and I would not be able to even guess this? Re: Payroll Advice Report Does anybody have a suggestion? Maybe someone from MYOB checking open queries on this board once in a while? Payroll Advice Report I like the style of the Payroll advice report as produced in the desktop version - while the information is mainly there in the online version (Payroll Activity report), some data e.g. the hourly rate or the accumulated leave entitlement are missing. Is there any way to customise/configure the fields to appear in the same way? Also, since using electronic onboarding, the field for next of kin and emergency contact are included in the set-up. While this is great in principle, I don't need that info in every report. Is there a way to suppress that from appearing in payment reports (like the Payroll Advice Report).
