Payday Super - being able to choose date of payment
Over Christmas period I do payroll in advance as I have only salary employees. With the current Payday Super setup in MYOB, super will be paid before staff get paid! There is currently no option to choose a future date to process and pay super. This is pretty vital as it makes no sense to not be able to choose a payment date and super being paid in advance of actual payday.333Views26likes15CommentsPay Super - ability to future date
With upcoming changes to Payday Super it would be extremely beneficial to be able to create a superannuation payment with a future date, authorise today and the payment is not taken out of the bank account until the future date. I often do payroll in advance when going on leave. With Payday super we need to pay super on the day of payroll. The current Pay Super in MYOB means that although the Pay Super is for a date in advance, that is effectively ignored and the money comes out of the bank account on the date it is authorised. This will put pressure on bookkeepers/payroll staff to have to either login on the payday to authorise super, or put cashflow pressure on businesses to pay super in advance of the payroll which seems illogical.327Views34likes11CommentsATO Reporting Category Fares and Travel allowance
Hi, Does anyone pay apprentices that can answer a question for me please? With an allowance Weekly fares and travelling allowance applicable in an award, which reporting categories in MYOB do you use for these and are they different categories for each allowance? If I am interpreting correctly the answer is yes you should - separate a) Fare allowance (Allowance - Other) What code should you use here? (OD T1 ?) Do you put this in the Wages name? How should this look in myob? An example would be great, thanks! (MYOB AccountRight Desktop) b) Travelling Time allowance (Gross Payments / OTE). 'Travel Time - Ordinary' and No specific code needed here. Thank you for any info on the above. KH23Views0likes1CommentActivate Super payments for minor employees
I am located in NSW have an employee who is 13years old. She will be working around 7-14 hours per month on weekends and possibly some additional shifts during her school holidays. However during her school holidays recently when she was shadowing another employee and training she worked for 32h in one week. In New South Wales: -there is no minimum legal working age, -there is no limit to the number of hours that a minor can work during school holidays, -if a minor works more than 30h in a week, an employer MUST pay super for that employee The MYOB superannuation payment module is not set up to enable super payments for minors. When I try to create a super payment for her, I get the error message "Employee must be older than 13 to receive super." I have searched the ATO and Fairwork and I find that there are no ATO guidelines or rules or laws preventing payment of super to any employee under the age of 18. I would like MYOB to please update to the software to allow super payments for minors.262Views5likes7CommentsOpt-out of Benefit program in Flare
I like the option to use MYOB for electronic onboarding and had noticed the tick box for flare benefits ticked by default. I always unticked this as we do not wish to be a middleman for services or benefits that are unvetted by us. It seems that Flare is still getting the information and may contact staff for offers even if we have unticked the box during the invite. I also find it objectionable to have this ticked by default. This should be opt-in and not opt-out. Please change this to prevent data leaks now or in the future.458Views12likes16Comments
