Payroll and PAYE
Where in this payroll does it calculate and show the gross amount on screen or in a report to be paid to IRD at every weekly IRD Filing. Why do we have to add these items to get a that total amount PAYE + Some Deductions ? + Employee Kiwisaver + Employer Kiwisaver The Payroll Activity Report shows all deductions so you can use this report as some are non taxable. Is this payroll not intended for New Zealand , we never had to do this with Ace Pays ? Are we missing something or does the program need adjustments made. Any help appreciated.23Views0likes4CommentsPayroll - unable to sign in

We are a small NZ company operating with few employees on all types of employment types. With Ace payroll support ending in 2025, I am looking for suggestions on what to move to. The ideal system would have an easy migration and talk to main accounting systems. Fellow Ace users looking at the same situation, what are your thoughts? Thanks.26Views0likes2CommentsAccrual of leave while on Parental leave
Hi there, I'm using MYOB Business in NZ. Can someone please explain to me how to turn off leave accruing for an employee while on Parental/Maternity leave for 6 months? When I called MYOB they said to alter the Anniversary date for the employee by pushing it our for the time they are off. I've done this but leave is still accruing. How to I stop this please? I don't understand how this works. Please help! thanks, Dee196241Views0likes3Commentsreducing hours pay run
Hi there, posting here as the support staff couldn't work out this particular issue and still waiting for a call back since last week.. A staff member reduced her days from 2 days to 1 day. She complained her annual leave hours reduced. It appears same number of weeks entitlement remains but the hours were reduced. (i.e. her week of entitlement still 3.11 weeks; but hours available was from 46 hours to 22 hours). When she raised the concerns to me, I called the support and we went thru her past pay slips on MYOB software. It was noted that her pay slip on MYOB cloud was 22 hours from her past pay slips as opposed to 46 hours she claimed. Of which, I told her the software and the pdf pay slip could not be altered as it was emailed and sent to her from software. So, she printed her past few pay slips and the hours were 46 hours instead of 22 hours. 1, how to correct, change and record the right amount of annual leave? 2, how can the software automatically alter the past pay slips which were sent out already? was this not supposed to be a legal document? thanks42Views0likes3CommentsRefunding Kiwisaver
What would be the correct way to refund kiwisaver in Exo Payroll? Client has had notification from IRD to refund as employee not eligable, IRD have refunded the Employer and asked them to refund the employee - they entered Kiwisaver amount as a negative but get errors when generating the IR Reports for filing. Should this even be recordeed against Kiwisaver? Or just added as a post tax allowance? Any advice? ThanksSolved29Views0likes3CommentsFiling GST through MYOB - Only GST Periods from 2022 are showing
I'm trying to file my GST through MYOB (I've done it successfully twice before) but this time I'm not able to do so because the correct period is not showing. I'm trying to file a 2-monthly return for the period ending 31 May 2024, but the only options in the dropdown list are 2-monthly periods in 2022. What have I done that means I cannot select any periods after 2022? PS I've had to file the return manually through IRD (as it was due today) but would love to resolve this so I can file the next one through MYOB28Views0likes1CommentGST on import - NZ
Hi The way the GST on imported goods works in MYOB seems strange. Per the attachment, we pay GST on imported goods of $5992.65. Normally this amount would be allocated to Box 13 of the GST Return (Credit adjustments from your calculation sheet) of $5992.65. No amount in the MYOB GST return appears and the bank transaction shows a GST amount of 50% of the $5992.65. Surely if I set up the GST code as 100%, the amount of GST should be 100% and should appear in the GST return in Box 13. In pevious message posts, the GST is worked around by grossing the amounts up but as this is GST on imports, it shoudn't be grossed up. Is this an MYOB software issue that needs to be fixed? Thanks Nick224Views0likes6CommentsReducing hours in MYOB Payroll Desktop
Hi, I have an employee that was working 40 hours per week (over 5 days) and has just reduced down to 8.25 hours per week (over 1 day). Before the change, she had taken 35 hours of annual leave in advance, and this is what her leave looked like: After i updated her normal days/normal hours; it changed to this: Can you please advise the calculation behind the change and why the annual leave rate has disappeared? If i go to enter a pay for her i can see her annual leave rate has changed to $110.94424. I need to be able to explain the change in hours and annual leave rate so i can ensure MYOB has calculated this correctly. However, i am not understanding how the system got to the new figures.37Views0likes1CommentRecurring Invoices not posting again. MYOB Essentials
I had this same problem in October 23 and after much going back and forth with moderators was never given a solution. The problem somehow was fixed after about 4 weeks and I never received any explanation. We operate a caravan park in NZ and raise about 95 invoices every week. Since the problem was solved in Oct 23 everything has been going along fine with recurring invoices being posted every Monday. Today Monday May 27th the recurring invoices have not been posted. Note the screen shot below showing the next due date as today May 27th but no posting. Please can we get a positive resolution rather than all the back and forth last time that went nowhere. Serial number is 640003206140 Johns Road Investments Limited. Product MYOB Essentials. It is NZ based but we do all data entry in Australia. I would like to resolve quickly so we do not have to manually post 95 invoices every week until this issue is resolved. Regards Jeffrey118Views0likes11CommentsExporting payroll data
Anyone know how to export all my payroll data? I'm moving to another provider and would prefer to avoid having to enter it all manually. I note MYOB can happily import employee data in a standard csv format but does not offer the same functionally to export it.... Maybe I'm missing something or it has to be requested via support?30Views0likes1CommentPaying Annual Leave after Parental Leave
Hi I am using MYOB Payroll 2024.1 - for NZ Payroll. I have an employee who took 12 months of parental leave, and six months after returning to work she wishes to take some annual leave, of which was accrued and became annual leave whilst she was on parental leave. For clarity when she went on parental leave she had no annual leave owing to her, and some accrued (which turned into annual leave owing on her anniversary date whilst she was on parental leave). I understand that any annual leave accrued whilst on parental leave gets paid out using the AWE for the 12 months immediately before the annual leave is taken. I have tried using this support note (https://enterprise-support.myob.com/suppr/setting-up-an-employee-on-parental-leave-and-payin#expand-2Payingannualleaveupontheirreturn) to process the annual leave in the above mentioned situation. I am able to follow the instructions right up to selecting the option to "Use Average Weekly Pay". I am able to select this, however when I do so this still calculates Average Weekly Pay based on the past 4 weeks, rather than the past 52 weeks as required by NZ legislation in this situation. How do I override the 4 weeks so that it calculates the Average Weekly Pay over 52 weeks? I apologize if this has been asked on another post, I tried searching for relevant posts, but the only one I found was from 2-3 years ago and whilst it didn't appear to have a complete solution the replies have been closed. Hi there we ran our normal fortnightly payroll this Weds 8th May and next one is due 22nd May. Meantime I have been instructed to make end of year bonus payments to all employees and would like to do this now rather than have to wait until the next payrun. When I go to set up the pay for the bonus it is asking for the pay period and I am unsure what to enter/how to go about this. There does not seem to be an option to select for a one off payroll that does not relate to a specific pay period. Can anybody help/advise please? Many thanks!66Views0likes1CommentPayroll not recording PAYE or KS liabilities
Since moving from Essentials to MYOB Business during Nov 2023 our MYOB pay runs no longer automatically transfer the PAYE or Kiwisaver/ESCT liabilities to their appropriate codes and this produces inaccurate figures in our Balance Sheet for 31.3.2024. Have I overlooked doing something with the new system or does this transfer now need to be done manually? I sure hope not. Hope someone can help real soon so I can complete our annual accounts. Thanks17Views0likes2CommentsPayslips not sending to yahoo email addresses
I ran payroll as normal on Monday and sent the payslips out via email like I normally do. Yesterday I received emails from Microsoft Outlook for each of our employees who use an email address ending in yahoo.co.nz or yahoo.com, advising that each email was undeliverable. I did nothing different to normal. These employees have been with us for months/years and I've not had this problem with them before. What has changed to cause this, and how do I fix this? I went to attach the diagnostic information contained in the email from Microsoft Outlook, however it contains employee email addresses that I didn't want to put on here. I use MYOB Payroll 2023.1.Solved217Views0likes2Comments
