End of MYOB v19 & earlier versions

I think you might be confusing the terms of the current licence agreement for AR, with the original licence agreements that came with v19. I have checked the licence agreements at installation for 2 v19 products and none of the licence terms you refer to are in the agreement.

Interestingly they are both completely silent on the need for ongoing Confirmation. I wonder what non-MYOB lawyers would make of that.

NB - anyone reading this who wants to keep using their Classic MYOB (v19 etc) after MYOB stops providing confirmation codes can do so, email me for more information - centralhub12345@gmail.com

While MYOB will no longer provides codes (despite their obligation), or a patch to remove the need to confirm files, confirmation codes are available from other sources. Search online for MYOB Confirmation Codes or similar and look for the first few non MYOB websites.

Mike, you are tasked by your masters to defend the indefensible. re:“In the event that the publisher deems this product to be redundant,"  Now that would have to be a highly subjective assessment requiring a definition of "redundant" (you may wish to check the actual meaning, it does not work in your favour) It is abundantly clear that your refusal to activate is an admission of either tech incompetence, (hopefully not) or a misuse of the term "redundant" to confuse those who do not understand the english language or technology. The 28th Feb 2025 strangulation is particularly inconvenient. For example, late payments for Jan invoices cannot be processed !! Mike, you need to have a quiet word with the team that foisted this arm twisting regime on us. I have wasted 6 months of data input given that the notice to make files read only was only recent. I have 3 company files (I paid 300 bucks for the last one although my original licence agreement allowed 5) and I am approaching retirement (not redundancy) and whilst the transactions are few, the programme works fine and does not need support (never required it) or upgrades. There is an organisation that provides activation, so why can't you? Your responses demonstrate obfuscation and misdirection. Please read carefully and respond accordingly.

Totally agree. I made that point 1 month ago. It is pretty clear that they can continue to provide the service, but are bloody minded enough to terminate the activation service with no good reason. Even the announced cutoff date , 28th of Feb, is a clear demonstration of the control they are randomly assigning to the issue. In reality, the program has been rendered almost useless well prior to the cutoff. (how does one reconcile an invoice payment sent in Feb with a due date in March, just for example?) They have twisted our arms behind our backs, Mike (MYOB) is just cannon fodder for the corporate spin generated from the bowels of a service provider who has no respect for long standing customers. totally agree with you. I have a V13 & V17. Which I am still currently using. Sadly my accountant wanted me to move with the times. I have been extremely dissapointed. Even V13 has many more useful features than my new version. I am very glad that my career is coming to an end so that I do not have to be using this for much longer as would be changing my accounting package

Well Mike, your lawyers might want to contemplate the definition of the word "redundant", which according to the dictionary is:

 "not or no longer needed or useful; superfluous"

I think they will have a hard time convincing anyone, including the ACCC, that your past customers who paid for this software are now finding it "redundant"........(no longer needed). As to your claim that you can no longer support this software, well I don't think any of us need or expect you to do this, so that's just a nonsense statement. We simply demand that you not render it unusable.  

Why does the file need to be confirmed ? What happens during this process ?

V19 has not had any software updates etc.. and if you want to run it locally on your pc (Off line) what's the drama?

How can the "safely support" comment apply?

Myob are just getting greedy and trying to force us to a subscription

Ryan, try to explore a third party provider for the confirmation codes at a fraction of the price of a MYOB subscription.

Hi Amanda, these clients purchased a physical disk and program license outright. I feel it is unfair of MYOB to now decide that these licenses have a use by date & that everyone now has to pay $$ to subscribe just to be able to continue using the product that they originally paid good money for. There is nothing in the fine print saying the license will expire in a number of years. I will have to find an alternative option for them if MYOB insists that this termination will go ahead. I don't believe that this is even legal, as they hold a valid license. I urge you to reconsider!!

I am a V19.16 user and don't think that it is right that we will now be forced into taking up a subscription for software that still suits my needs and that I purchased outright. I think I still have myob V13 software somewhere that I may now need to use instead which I think does not do the data file verification thingy.

What options are available?

We have multiple v19 customers that don't use payroll and want to continue with the software as is.

People have implied that there are other methods to confirm the company files.
