User Access
Within the Time Billing role we wish to provide access to Time Billing Reports only. The Reports menu seems to allow access to either all reports or none. Any ideas on how to overcome this, please?

Hi, PC49
Thanks for your post, and welcome to the MYOB Community Forum.
If the role set up for a user is time billing only, they will only have access to time billing reports. However, if other roles are ticked for user access, then what can happen is that they will have access to other reports. If you only want the user to access the time billing reports only, you can always duplicate the user access and make sure to customise it for a specific user so that other users with the same role will not be affected. Detailed steps are provided in our Help Article: Set up roles (under 'Creating a custom role- duplicating).

Thanks for your response, but when we have only the Time Billing Report ticked there seems to be an override that prevents any reports being visible to the user. On their screens the Reports tab is greyed out.
Hi, PC49
Thanks for updating us.
Kindly send us a screenshot of where you can see the Reports button is greyed out. This will help us further assist you with your concern. We are looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
Doreen
Thanks Doreen.
Here it is:
Hi, PC49
Thank you for providing the requested screenshot.
Please double-check the roles set up for this employee, making sure that reports role is ticked. We have tried to replicate the issue, and we were able to access the reports with only the time billing role. Please let us know how it goes.
Best regards,
Doreen
Thanks Doreen.
The user is set up for the Time Billing role only.
Within the Time Billing role the Reports is unticked automatically. When the Reports role is ticked it gives access to all reports, not just Time Billing.
However, even within the Time Billing reports there is confidential information which we have been unable to restrict. For example the Unprocessed Activity Slips report allows users to view the hourly pay rate of other employees. We don't want this information to be visible.
Hi, PC49
Thank you for your response.
Kindly attach a screenshot of the report reports that the user can still access, even though the role is for time billing only. We are looking forward to it.
Best regards,
Doreen
Hi Doreen,
The screenshots I sent to you previously are unchanged, The user's access to Reports remains greyed out.
Hi, PC49
We were able to replicate the concern with the Time Billing access only. Upon thorough investigation, access to Time Billing reports only cannot be done as other reports are connected to Time Billing reports, which can lead to the Reports tab being greyed out. The possible workaround for this is to tick the Payroll, Cards, and Time Billing under the company file roles. You can still customise the access mentioned by going to the Manage Roles tab to customise the user access.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best regards,
Doreen
