End of Financial Year Employee

MYOB Essentials had 'Payroll Detailed' report which I sent out at end of Financial year for each employee.  It showed all payments made to each employee. Can't find that under MYOB Business. Is it called something else now?

  • Hey Janet-frta,

MYOB Business has a Pay run history report which will display pay run details by employee within a specified payment date range or using a selected pay run date.

You can set the report to display information within the financial year and filter individual employees. From there you'll be able to export the report as an Excel or PDF to send.

    Cheers, Amanda.

    Amanda,

As with a bunch of other accountants, I am looking for year end summaries for employees, which used to be very easy to produce.  I have wasted so much time, and hoped that your answer would help.

Unfortunately, I can only see a Pay Run Summary (not a Pay Run History report), and that will only permit me to summarise one pay at a time.  How do I produce a report for a full financial year within the new MYOB Business Payroll platform?

It is quite ridiculous that MYOB have not fixed this since last year's compulsory "upgrade" roll-out, along with a lot of other deficiencies.  And I am sick of hearing from MYOB that you understand the feedback and it is considered...  we need to be working, not playing games.

    Hi AdminKirsty,

    Thank you for your post.

I can understand your frustration with the changes and the difficulties you're experiencing in generating year-end summaries for your employees. As for the payroll reports, you might find the Payroll Activity Report useful. This report retrieves figures from payroll transactions and payments already processed for each employee. It displays pay items, such as wages, superannuation, entitlements, deductions, expenses, and taxes, within a selected date range. To generate this report, you will need to adjust the date range to cover the full financial year.

If you encounter any issues or need further assistance with this, please don't hesitate to reach out.

    Cheers,

    Princess

    Thanks Princess,

I had tried on multiple occasions to get that report to print for just one employee, as it kept giving me all employees from the tax year, even though only one employee was selected.

However, after a great deal of trial and error, I was able to find the Apply button (the interface is so large, and the scroll down well hidden on a laptop) and refreshed the page often enough that it finally co-operated.

This is poor interface design, and it is making life quite miserable!

However, I have now managed to fashion some kind of employee report, one at a time, using the Payroll Activity Report.  I'm extremely grateful I don't need to generate these for dozens or hundreds of employees!  Please pass on feedback to your design team, to make sure these deficiencies are address in a workable fashion as a matter of priority.  That this regression on previous functionality was approved in the first place is a disgrace to MYOB.
