EOFY Finalisation - Previous years not available

Hi,

We want to amend EOFY finalisation for year 2023. But I cannot see the year in the STP section.

    Hi there sk_98,

Once you've rolled over to the new payroll, only the prior and current payroll years are available in the Single Touch Payroll reporting window. Other prior payroll years, like 2023, are no longer displayed. Since you need to amend the payroll year 2023, it's best to contact the ATO to amend it manually, and they can provide you with more information on how to do it.

    Best regards,

    Doreen

  • Hi Doreen,

Thanks for the reply. The ATO suggested the SBR can provide this option. Please let me know how I can get the ATO to action on this. Feel like a football now.

      Hi sk_98,

Amending the 2023 payroll year can be done manually, as only the prior and current payroll years are available in the Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting window when you roll over to the new payroll year. I highly recommend contacting the ATO directly for further assistance on how to proceed with this.

      Kind regards,

      Shella

      Hi sk_98

I am not familiar with how helpful the ATO might be with amending manually. The ATO is correct in that software using SBR to send data directly to the ATO should have an amend function (ability to send an Update event) for the prior year. In this case it is MYOB themselves that limit you to this year or previous year. Unfortunately no way around this with MYOB. You cannot restore an old file to do it either.

If the manual approach with the ATO fails, you can use STP Creator to amend a prior year STP report, even if you did not use STP Creator to originally lodge. You can purchase a temp licence and STP Creator provides paid remote support for this kind of thing. Given the process is slightly complex, if you go this way, I recommend you get people behind STP Creator to step through it with you. May cost extra but less stress etc.

      Regards

      Gavin
