STP and EOFY Finalisation not matching ATO figures

Hi . My payroll finalisation for 28 of 31 employees is correct. The three I have problems with the activity statements match and are correct the YTD in the payroll register and figures in the last pay of the year is correct also The finalisation figures however are grossly incorrect one of them by about $40,000?? The other one is similiar but only about $3000 difference for this one.  I also have one employee who was terminated in the 22/23 26 June 2023 year showing in the 23/24 payroll year? I have checked this out and the reporting for the 22/23 was correct.  Not sure what to do with this either. Need help badly.

  • Hi Chlova - thanks for the question.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble at this busy time of year!

In regard to the terminated employee showing in the 23/24 payroll year, make sure you've entered a Termination date for that employee.

    1. Go to the Payroll menu > Employees.
    2. Click the employee's name.
    3. Click the Payroll details tab.
    4. On the Employment details tab, enter the Termination date ā€“ this is their final day of employment.
    5. Click Save.

For your payroll reports that aren't matching, take a look at this help topic that will help you work out what's gone wrong and how to fix it: STP finalisation

    I hope this helps!

  • Hi Chlova,

Thanks for your post and welcome to community forum! To fix this I highly suggest to compare the information in your Payroll Register and Payroll Activity reports. If they match, you can simply send an update event to correct the figures in the YTD verification report make sure sure the ATO will receive the up to date figures of your employees. Once done, you may check the reports again to see if it all matches. The Help Article End of year finalisation with Single Touch Payroll reporting will provide you the steps on how to do the send update event. However, if they don't match, I recommend double-checking the reporting Category for the RESC to ensure accurate reporting.

Feel free to write a post if you need further assistance.

    Cheers,
