Super reports

Is there a Super report that can be printed after the Super has been paid in MYOB that shows who was paid and how much?

I can print the report before I pay the Super, but this doesn't give me an after Super report

    Hi wjdavidson158,

Yes, you can check this in MYOB by going to Reporting > Reports > Payroll, then opening the Superannuation payments report. That report shows the super amounts accrued and the Pay Super amounts for the period you select, so you can use it to see who has been paid and how much. If there’s any difference showing, that would usually be the amount still owing.

Hi Isaiah_C    This is a better report than we have found previously however is there one that actually reflects the payment progress and gives final confirmation of payment having being made.   Once expanded, this report shows the date paid.   But, it shows as paid as soon as there is one authorisation completed in MYOB.   It ignores that, in our case, a 2nd authorisation is needed and is not reflective of the payment actually being processed.   We can produce a report that says a payment is made but at the same time we are seeing an "in progress" status in the pay super window.   From the browser, if we select payroll, pay runs we see a screen that clearly includes date of payment, employees, STP status, Super payment status.   Is that available in a report format?    Where do we access a report that gives us that real truth of a confirmed payment?

MYOB is showing Super as unpaid.

Not all Business Owners will use MYOB to pay Super - in fact none of my Clients do.

The Pay Super button is a good idea.

The Unpaid Super Column can be confusing.

Payday Super means more Business Owners will need to access MYOB themselves (this may cause problems). Many of my Clients do not want to (indeed have never) opened MYOB.

Previously, I did monthly/quarterly Financials (reconciled all Balance Sheet Accounts) and advised Business Owners of the Super Payable.

The ATO legislation regarding OTE (now QE) has changed over many years.

How is a Business Owner expected to know what Leave Payments have SG and which do not?

Recall watching a ATO Webinar where a discussion was held where Micro businesses could pay SG monthly after Accountant/BAS Review.   The ATO has not advised.

It is fair to say that the Labor Government appears not to have considered the time and effort and knowledge required to run a small business.

Wholistically Payday Super is fine - implementation and the short time frame is certainly problematic for small business owners.

    Hi JillL1,

Thanks for checking on this. At this stage, there isn’t a report available that shows the final confirmed super payment status in the way you’re describing. While some reports can show super amounts and payment-related details, there isn’t a report that gives the full “source of truth” for confirmed processing, especially where extra authorisation steps are involved.

    Regards,

    Sai

Isaiah_C So is there a plan to do that?    It is very misleading that it says paid when it is clearly not.

    Hi JillL1,

Thanks for pointing that out. I can see why that would be confusing. To get this checked properly, it’d be best to reach out to our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account so they can look into why it’s showing as paid and confirm what’s happening on your file.

    Regards,
